Agastache Mango Tango
This plant has a height of 16-18” and a width of 14-16”. This is a sun loving plant with orange colored flowers that will bloom midsummer to early fall. Butterflies and bees love the flowers and so do hummingbirds because of the shape of the petals. Deer should stay away because it is scented and they are drought tolerant so don’t give them a bunch of water.
Aster Woods Pink
This plant has a height of 12-18” and a width of 18-24”. Plant this in full sun and will bloom late summer and early fall. Bees, butterflies, and Birds like the flowers. The birds will eat the dried flowers so don’t dead head it immediately. Its deer resistant, and drought tolerant. Also this plant can handle sandy and clay soil which is good for our St. Louis soil.
Astilbe Visions Volcano
This astilbe is in the same series as the other astilbe visions but this one is supposed to be a true red instead of Visions in Red which gets its name because it has read stems. (I know- confusing). Astilbe’s like full shade or morning sun. This plant has a height of 12-14” and a width of 10-12”. It will bloom late spring to early summer and the flowers are like bushy plums. Dead head when they are done flowering as well.
Dianthus Odessa Pure
This plant has a height and width of 12-16”. It’s a sun loving plant so make sure to put it in full sun. The flowers are amazing. They are fragrant, long lasting, and make great cut flowers. Make sure to cut off dead flowers to get them to rebloom. It is drought tolerant and butterflies and bees love the flowers as well.
Hosta Dream Weaver
This is a shade loving plant so make sure to plant it in either morning sun or full shade. It has a height of 18” and a width of 30” and hummingbirds love their white flowers. It is a sport of the Hosta Great Expectations and in 2012 was awarded the Royal Horticultural Award of Garden Merit.
Leucanthemum Mount Hood
This plant has double white flowers with slender petals that resemble layers of ice crystals. It blooms June-August and it’s a long bloomer- butterflies and bees love the flowers as well. Cut off the dead flowers when finished flowering and it might rebloom in fall as well. Plant in full sun and it has a height of 20” and width of 16”.
Peony Coral Sunset
We brought on a few fancy peonies’ this year and we have never seen a coral peony flower this beautiful and eye catching as this one. It has a height and width of 24-36” and they love sun. They bloom in May and enjoy the flowers while you can. The flowers are also very fragrant. This peony was awarded the American Peony Society Gold Medal.
Salvia Blue By You
This plant has a height of 20-22” and a width of 18-22”. It’s a sun loving plant so make sure to plant it in full sun. Hummingbirds and bees love the flowers- it should have up to five reblooming periods a season. Its heat and frost tolerant and deer resistant.
Salvia Swifty Deep Rose
This has a height of 8-12” and a width of 20-24”. Butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds enjoy the pretty pink fragrant flowers. It is deer resistant and drought tolerant.
Veronica Waterperry Blue
This is a low growing, long flowering, great groundcover plant. It looks gorgeous on hill sides or a slope and looks really cool around water features and ponds. It has a height of 5” and a width of 12-14” and loves full sun to part shade. The leaves will turn burgundy in the fall to give your garden some cool fall color. Its deer and rabbit resistant, hot dry sight tolerant and food traffic tolerant. Also bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds love the flowers.
